We’re Fran and Jack, a British couple who have set off for an adventure of a lifetime aboard our 41-foot sailing boat Calidris Alba. We quit our corporate jobs in London in search of a life on the water. Follow our journey through the highs and lows of living aboard a 40 year old sailing boat.

After years of corporate life in London, we decided to take a pause on our careers, city routines, and the comfort of the familiar in search of a life shaped by wind, tide and the horizon.

Calidris Alba is a 40-year-old sailing boat with plenty of character and lots of quirks. She’s solid, practical, and constantly teaching us patience. Living aboard means constantly learning new skills, from boat maintenance and passage planning to fixing things at sea with whatever tools we have to hand. Some days are picture-perfect anchorages and golden sunsets. Others are engine failures, unexpected repairs, and hard lessons learned. We share it all.
